What are their unique dynamics? How do they support or challenge one another? How do they interact pre-, post-, & in the off-screen canon moments? Where do their needs match up, where do they differ, and how do they resolve that? I'm not much for found-families or ensembles, & generally prefer good ol' fashioned us versus the world dynamics for the character(s) I request.
Established relationships are near & dear to my heart for this reason — after they've (at least somewhat) gotten together all the fascinating ...and then? aspects become possible. Regardless of the plot or tone of canon, I am always hungry to see what the day-to-day is like for them, and the intricacies therein. How do their priorities shift now that they have someone they care about & who relies on them? How does the relationship muddy or strengthen their existing priorities or moral compass? How does the world or their general social sphere treat them, and how do they react to that treatment? (That said, I enjoy get-togethers as much as the next person, especially if it has them dealing with these considerations outright prior to being an item.)Codependent relationships, obsessive relationships, & so on: you can be giving it all to me. Doing questionable things or neglecting themselves to make their partner happy? Putting themselves or the other person in precarious situations just so they can have their desired outcome? Letting the ends justify the means? All amazing.
I love digging into the realities of what that kind of life & dynamic would look like. What does it mean when characters know — be it a growing suspicion or outright surety — that what they're feeling, the degree to which they're feeling it, isn't healthy, but they enjoy it so much they can't bring themselves to care or change? Them being equally, fuck-up-ed-ly invested in their relationship is what I live for. Character(s) willing to let the world very literally burn if it keeps the world from coming between them & the person they love — or perhaps better yet, being willing to set the world on fire if it ensures that person remains theirs alone.
⟡ Rather than miscommunication causing drama, I love it when bluntness & frankness cause tension instead.Characters saying what they want or confessing what they've done, point-blank, & leaving it for the other to decide if they can handle that; quiet characters taking their time & mulling over their choices before telling the other person what they want; different cultures or moral constructs & the unique ways needed to bridge/overcome them; as well as any other communication-based drama that you can think of that doesn't hinge on not having the full story or hearing the wrong thing at the worst time are always timeless sources of conflict that engage me.
⟡ Codas, alternate canons, canon divergences, &/or slight changes to canon that don't end up changing much at all because fate always finds a way are all my bread & butter. My prompts typically range from potential plotty monstrosities to short, domestic slice-of-life details & I'd adore receiving either, or seeing you depict a prompt that might fall into the former camp into something that fits the latter. I don't need a lot of world-building setups, especially if that's not something you're really into doing. If you've decided to take up one of my alternate canon, AU, or divergent ideas, please rest assured that I already know the basic background of what's going on & you are welcome to go right ahead with the action of the story, if that's what you want. (However, if half the fun in creating involves delving deep into the universe & making yourself at home there, go wild!)
⟡ I love, love, love genre mashups.Slice of Life Action, Noir SciFi, Heist High Fantasy, Historical Dynamics Set in the Modern Era, Vampire Westerns, Werewolf RomComs, Social Commentary Horror — many of the, uh, out-there prompts below probably get this across, but I'm the person who you can create weird, off-the-wall works for any day of the week.
⟡ Art is absolutely witchcraft to me and I'm impressed by many of the forms it takes. All of my prompts and general likes (and dislikes) absolutely pertain to what I like to see in art; that includes always being excited for explicit artwork if that's what you wanna make!The most important thing for me in art is the comoposition/subject matter. I enjoy looking at things, finding little details, decoding symbolism — and because of that, I typically enjoy a wide range of styles. For composition or subject matter I've given specific ideas (as well as the prompts) for each character, but in general you can't go wrong with genre scenes or an emotional or pivotal moment that looks like it could be proudly displayed in the middle of a chapter — or even as the 'cover' of a comic book, novel, or DVD box. I adore a focus on details (hands, eyes, body postures, et cetera), in case you'd like to zero in on that rather than do anything full-bodied. For styles, I enjoy Realistic, comic-book or anime & similar styles, and especially abstract & stylized takes! From a design perspective, I adore sketch-like and rough-edged pieces, as well as any sort of coloring that is "messy"/goes "outside" the lines.
In terms of color palettes & style/mood/composition, I'm into Renaissance Art, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, Luminism, Surrealism, & Baroque Art. Extrapolating from that, I guess I like pastels or really strong colors, the interplay of dark/light & shadows with a close focus on the subject involved where the background can vary from nothingness to a whole piece in itself.I always end up feeling charmed/moved by anything with a strong sense of aesthetic or personality, as annoyingly vague as that probably is. If they’re brought back to life via the supernatural, reincarnation, consciousness uploaded into an android, et cetera — or the story continues in the afterlife, I'm good. As long as the story doesn't end with "[…] and they died, the end", you're fine. The death of non-requested characters or original characters are all fine, although a focus on that as a driving plot point may hit my next item.
⟡ Whump/excessive angst wherein the majority of the fic is (self-)pity, sadness or miscommunications, and a tiny section at the end is happy/resolution.If the events are sad but the character(s) experiencing them believe their lives to be normal, content, &/or are generally blind to the awfulness of their situation, then that's fine! I dislike when half or more of the work focuses on a character's sadness/angst and how they react or wallow in said angst.
⟡ Plots driven by embarrassment &/or humiliation (as a kink or situationally) that rely on actions that focus on humiliating them (e.g. A and B are forced to have sex in front of an audience; A verbally humiliates B in a sexual context or just to be cruel and B is thoroughly humiliated) make my second-hand embarrassment kick in hard, especially if they are shown or described in detail with particular focus on the embarrassment the character feels.However, if the character doesn't think they did anything embarrassing &/or it doesn't phase them that something embarrassing occurred (e.g. A walks in on B masturbating. B keeps going while A enjoys the show or joins in; or, A says "sorry", leaves, and then obsesses over hot B is, rather than being mortified), you're fine. 💭 This show consistently goes there in a way that I always dream of but have never actually had delivered & I find myself delighted every time, even though I should expect it by now!Cory & Naveed's relationship dynamic — funny lad with a crush on his best friend, the school-slut — is a common trope that the show so brilliantly deconstructed & gave a fresh, genuine take on. Naveed being the most important person in Cory's life & Cory struggling to make sense of it (especially since the only use anyone ever has for him is sex) plays into one of my favorite trope inversions: gay-straight pining where it's the straight one lusting after their gay friend.
Cory literally orchestrating an opportunity for them to have sex — never mind how he definitely leant into that first kiss of theirs, even if he placed the blame on Naveed in the end — is the exact type of complicated I am always here for. Naveed taking it to mean that they're dating, while Cory saw it as them becoming closer — something that's on the table for them now, but not a redefining moment for their love — was as heartbreaking as it was fascinating & I just want to see it explored in however you think that shakes out for them.
Meanwhile — Riz! As the season's roll on you witness Riz & Naveed becoming friends almost in the background, whatever friendship they're developing happening almost entirely off-screen, and yet still nonetheless there. I'm so intrigued by how pissed Riz was after he's clocked on to the fact that Cory & Naveed had slept together, and that he sided with Naveed rather than Cory (his best mate!) during their 'break', even though it could not have been more obvious that Cory needed his other best mate during that time. Did he see that as his chance to make a case for himself in Naveed's eyes with Cory finally out of the picture as competition?

Cory's life is in shambles but he's made the sort of progress that could be restarted elsewhere; he's gotten his feet wet as a chef and Naveed's forgiven him enough that they could be friends again. So! Cory doesn't redo a year at Ackley and instead goes to Manchester to start fresh. For Riz, what if he got into the same university as Naveed, or just wants a change of scenery? Perhaps the reason Riz sided with Naveed during the break up was that he'd also gone through this with Cory once before, & so he sees a bit of himself in Naveed. (Or heck, maybe the dynamic trio all go!)
How do things go? Is everything platonic and they struggle to learn how to deal with Naveed actually having a romantic life? Are they jealous? Are they still living in one another's pockets?
✨ Naveed sleeps with Riz instead of Cory.Depending on what ship you're writing, how does that impact that ship? Does it finally get Naveed off of his Cory obsession? Does Riz have the same reaction Cory did, or does it awaken feelings? Is Cory jealous or happy for them?
✨ Riz pining after Naveed all this time.He feels bad that his friends have had a falling out, but Naveed breaking up with Cory means that Riz finally has a chance to get in there. Is it sweet, or is Riz capitalizing on Naveed being lonely & at his lowest? Does he feel bad about it, or is a chance a chance?
✨ Naveed makes some sort of deal with the devil to get Cory to love him.How does it go? Does Naveed feel guilty about manipulating Cory in this way, or does he want it so bad that he doesn't care? Does a monkey-paw, careful-what-you-wish-for rule apply and Cory becomes obsessed with Naveed in a way Naveed regrets? Does it go wonderfully but he still regret's it, or does Naveed enjoy having Cory chase after him? (Was there never actually any wish at all?)
Does it go awry and impacts Riz instead? How does Naveed feel about accidentally trapping his friend in this situation? Does Naveed get a taste of his own medicine now Naveed is essentially in the same situation Cory had been in with him? Does Naveed find himself seeing Riz in a new light? (...was there never any potion at all!?) ✨ Give me an unhealthy, codependent loop that neither of them breaks.Cory or Riz struggling with their sexualities, yet still always ending up having sex with Naveed. Do they want it, even though they know it's unfair to Naveed? Does Naveed want it, and they give in so he doesn't end up with someone else? Do Cory or Riz intentionally ruin it for him, or do Naveed end up going back to them because he can't help himself?

💭 Western canons with gay stuff will make a stan out of me 10 out of 10 times, to be fair, but this one hits so many dynamics I'm into.I love how odd the town is! How flirty Black Knuckle is — and you're free to call him whatever you like, including giving him a name — & how Maltese always swoons for a second as a result, before his wits come back.
Their contrasting personalities are one of my favorite combos; stoic do-gooder who can't help but put his heart on his sleeve, & roguish rake who's actually a romantic and loves flirting with the one he's with even after he's 'caught' them. That BK keeps trying even when Maltese puts up his walls, and how easy those walls seem to come down despite Maltese trying his best to keep them up.
I love that they're clearly something at the start of it all, but things have come to a head. I'd love to know how they've come together, and where they're going. Please tell me how someone who is so clearly happy to fade into the background caught BK's eye. The things they have in common, the things they fight over, what kind of future they imagine, all of it.

Was it more of a slow-burn, with BK courting Maltese until he finally cracks?

Give me some of the times BK let his plans go awry or intentionally did a shoddy job, just so he'd get arrested or caught by Maltese. Does he do it to give them an excuse to see one another? Is it to help Maltese's career?
I'd also love the flip side of it all. He doesn't have to get caught — give me competent outlaw BK. Why does he turn to a life of wrong-doing? What sort of crimes does he usually pull? For all that he's a wanted man, he doesn't seem violent based on how everyone reacts to him. Is he a Robin Hood-type or what?
✨ What happens after!Does BK clean up his act & have to make an honest go of things? How does that work out? Does he have any non-criminal skills? Or perhaps does Maltese realize he isn't that great of a lawman & so they set off to make their own stake of things. Does Maltese fine another career, or does he join BK in a life of crime? Is he better or worse at it than he'd been as a deputy?
✨ Make it darker!If you'd like to make BK are more violent sort of criminal, I'm here for it. What does Maltese let him get away with? What does he help him cover up? How far is BK willing to go to make Maltese his?
✨ Identity porn!A cute stranger moves into town just around the time a slew of crimes in the area crop up.
✨ If westerns aren' t your thing, please feel free to take BK up on his shining knight flirting & reset this during the middle ages.
✨ Hooking up in the jail while the sheriff is away.
✨ BK not having enough time to put up with being arrested, so he drops in at Maltese's in the middle of the night for a brief reunion.
✨ A rival outlaw or greater law authority kidnaps Maltese in the hopes of capturing BK. It does not at all go as they planned.

💭 I am all-in on Simon. Love the whole rake thing, love that he oozes sexuality, love that he exists outside society & does what he pleases, and would love for that to keep up.Then there's Friederich — has there been a sweeter prince depicted on the screen? I love that he seems so chill & just rolls with stuff. No intense jealousy, ultimatums, or scheming, just steadfast loyalty. Can you see where I'm going with this? I think they would be two great tastes that taste great together!
Give me Simon having someone in his life that indulges him fully. Who doesn't love him 'despite' anything & who neatly side-steps his (understandable!) issues regarding childbirth & biological progeny. Who would be a true asset on the arm of a Prince for his cunning & good business sense. Who would stand toe-to-toe with any other ruler & provide a strong spirit to back up a future King.
🎨 Family portraiture. Bowing, hand-kissing, & other forms of loyalty declarations. Roughhousing & playfulness. Marking through however you see fit (clothes sharing, jewelry, bites or scratches). Being overcome with passion around the house. Dates which were meant to be chaste. Heated looks. Friederich being so earnest it causes Simon to become shy. Simon being so bold that it makes Friederich shy.

Or perhaps it's still taboo, and it's one of those wonderfully timeless historical blind eyes where everyone accepts Simon as his favourite and pretends they aren't fucking all over the palace, because Prussia can't be picky and Friederich really is perfect otherwise?

Friederich first sees Simon at a boxing match & does not realize they are of a similar social class.Please give me Friederich either ( a ) fumbling to try to figure out how to Pretty Woman Simon up so that he can take him back to the Prussian court & put a ring on it or ( b ) pretending to be of a lower status himself & wondering just how the fuck it is he'll confess to Simon that he's a prince without ruining things. Regardless of which you go for, please, please, my kingdom for Simon being aware that he's a prince the entire time. Is he playing around just for the hell of it and then fucks up by catching feelings? Is he charmed?
✨ One of them falls on hard times.Friederich's been pining after Simon but has held back because he knows he wants more than one night. When the Basset's teeter on the brink of ruin, he swoops in to save the day — asking only for Simon's hand in return. How does Simon feel about this? Does he withhold sex, keeping their marriage a thing in name only? Or does he only allow Friederich to have access to his body, holding his thoughts & heart apart? What makes him start to soften?
A war & civil unrest threatens the king's hold on Prussia. Simon, eager to do better than even his father managed, offers his family's fortune in exchange for an even grander title. How does Friederich feel about this? Is he pleased? Disappointed that their marriage is not one of love? How does he get Simon to see him as more than a stepping stone to his goals?
✨ Simon's never bedded a prince before, but he's never been one to let opportunity pass him by.

💭 Finally, after a long winter the Summer of Dev Patel is on us.I was delighted to see this in the tagset & in the now apparently grand tradition of me requesting trailers for high-concept movies that give nothing away, please do whatever you want. Toss in aspects of the poem, inject in your own worldbuilding, change its genre — have fun with it.
I love all the shipping options that are possible (if you have an idea for one of the characters I didn't select this is me giving you permission to write it instead), I love how wide & yet empty the world is, as that's the exact sort of adventure setting I enjoy — I have been waiting for this dumb film for three years & we're so close to getting it & I would love to see what your idea of what it will be is.
(edit) I've seen the film and adored it, so don't worry about spoilers. That said, I'm still completely here for trailer-osmosis fic for anyone who hasn't and is canon blind, or just wants to go in a different direction to what the film does.

Stockholm syndrome setting in; multiple attempts at escape, thwarted; realizing socio-economic factors once hidden from him that makes Gawain see that King Arthur & his government are perhaps the villains, & his captor has been on the right side all along.
✨ Adventure montage!I love when what was expected to be a brief encounter ends up being the most pivotal event, or comes to play in again at the end. During one of the quests hinted at occurring (or perhaps one you invent yourself) Gawain finds solace in someone who comes back to save him once he finally meets the Knight.
✨ Ditch the pointed homophobia of the original.A lot has been written about the original story's purpose of reestablishing good, Christian heterosexuality in the face of a potentially gay king & the lure of the love that dare not speak its name — to cement that homosocial behaviors are no comparison or threat to heterosexual ones. Please invert that!
The reason Gawain rejects the Lady but makes a point of giving affection to the Lord is due to his being attracted to him and not to her. Feel free to play around with this as much as you like; is the wife in fact paired with le Fay & feels guilty for it; was this a all a means to find the Lord someone to be with? Is theirs a better land than culture King Arthur breeds; does Gawain wish to stay?
✨ Role reversalWhat if the end result of their second battle means that Gawain must now become the Green Knight? What does that mean? What happens to the Knight himself? 💭 This show was so good & I never wanted it to end.Every twist & turn was just another direct blow to my exact tastes. Nubsib & Gene being childhood friends. Nubsib being obsessed with Gene & literally making his life's mission to be the perfect man for him. Nubsib apparently being a bit of an asshole (okay: more than a bit) to literally everyone but Gene. Gene keeping Nubsib on a tight leash. Gene somehow managing to write gay novels & shows while not being out. Domesticity, nonstop. Tactileness, nonstop. Age gap! I miss this show already.
I love them, I love their history, I'd love to see where you think they're going. Does Nubsib keep acting? Does Gene keep writing things specifically for him to star in? Does Gene ever get his scifi or fantasy work's published?

Every day I am haunted by Enitos & Yemos. I'm such a sucker for brother's that live in one another's pockets! I love how tender they are with one another, & yet how they're constantly
flirtingteasing in the same breath. Please feel free to fix his death if that's where your heart dies, but I'd be equally happy with their teenage fumbling as crown prices during happier times.And then Wiros! Talk about starting from the bottom. I love how scandalous he is; that the world made him incapable of looking out for anyone but himself & how that doesn't change even after he's found his people — except for when it comes to Yemos. I love that from the start everything between them is charged, and that Yemos' closed heart only opens for him as well, and how it's clear that while he suffered the loss of one man he loved, he will not let this fate befall Wiros as well.

I'm always partial to rebirth of a soul remembering it's past life, as once he is of age to seek out Yemos on his own you get bonus delicious age-gap — but regardless of how you achieve it, give me Enitos showing up. How does Yemos react? Is he able to return to the loveably younger brother, or has he changed too much? Has that change made him obsessive; is he willing to let Enitos out of his sight?
How does Wiros react to this development, after having Yemos to himself?

What more do you want from me?"I'm such a sucker for recently, stoically traumatized heroes being unable to shake Weasley schemers who clearly fell in love the minute they were the first person in their entire lives to show kindness to them. Please just lean into that dynamic or zero-in on any of those moments as their love for one another was developing.
✨ "You saved my life and I don't know your name."Yemos was such a good boy once upon a time! It's a direct hit to my id that even before they became everything for one another, he was willing to do truly awful things for Wiros. Please unpack this.
We saw hints of it when Yemos was willing to kill himself rather than be separated from Enitos, but clearly losing his brother made whatever sweetness was in him completely snap. Wiros, unlike Enitos, seems to relish in the darker side of Yemos. Does he cause trouble just to test what Yemos is willing to do or forgive? Does Yemos ever feel bad, or is anything justified if it keeps Wiros safe & happy?

"That wasn't my brother. [...] My brother loves me, he would never want me to die. He sent you to me as a second chance. To save me from the spirits that were killing me."Unrelated but also very related: the way Wiros looks at his lips during this scene, my god. When will Italy lean into its gay roots!?!
If you want to have them one upping one another in terms of life-saving & declarations of loyalty & other ridiculous displays of how much they love one another and could not care less for anyone else in the world, then please, have at it.

(Not me knowing the rest of the Romulus & Remus myth...) Please give me them co-ruling, have a great time, and fucking the hell out of one another every night, and going at it double when they argue.
