The tl;dr is that if you touch on anything I mention liking even slightly — and as I'm sure you'll realize, I have a lot of things that I like — I'll be elated. Beyond that, feel free to skim if you aren't someone that needs guidence.

For this exchange I've done my best to come up with prompts for all the potential canon options I had ideas for. If someone is left off who you wand to ship my LBD with, please do — their absence only means I couldn't think of anything, not that I have a preference for those listed. The generic prompts & πŸ’• write-ups apply to all potential ships, canon to OMC to crossover alike, but they certainly aren't the full scope of what I'd enjoy to read. Similarly, if you think a specific prompt I gave would work better with someone else (with or without some tweaking), have at it.

⟑ Prompts are formatted to (hopefully!) work for the less-is-more & more-is-more creator. Top-level prompts like this are are generalized, complete ideas &/or references. Know what you want to make by this point? Go for it.

The comments, ideas, questions & specific references exist in case you want more to work with. If you come up with an idea that's similar to a prompt, go for it! If ¾ of a prompt works for you, but the final ¼ doesn’t? Only work with the bit that does. I’d also love to see prompts combined or to have some of my general likes used to shape their direction.

⟑ The main thing I'm looking for in all my fannish pursuits is a focus on relationships!

What are their unique dynamics? How do they support or challenge one another? How do they interact pre-, post-, & in the off-screen canon moments? Where do their needs match up, where do they differ, and how do they resolve that? I'm not much for found-families or ensembles, & generally prefer good ol' fashioned us versus the world dynamics for the character(s) I request.

Established relationships are near & dear to my heart for this reason — after they've (at least somewhat) gotten together all the fascinating ...and then? aspects become possible. Regardless of the plot or tone of canon, I am always hungry to see what the day-to-day is like for them, and the intricacies therein. How do their priorities shift now that they have someone they care about & who relies on them? How does the relationship muddy or strengthen their existing priorities or moral compass? How does the world or their general social sphere treat them, and how do they react to that treatment? (That said, I enjoy get-togethers as much as the next person, especially if it has them dealing with these considerations outright prior to being an item.)

⟑ As a sub-category to the above, I never tire of fucked-up, unhealthy relationships!

Codependent relationships, obsessive relationships, & so on: you can be giving it all to me. Doing questionable things or neglecting themselves to make their partner happy? Putting themselves or the other person in precarious situations just so they can have their desired outcome? Letting the ends justify the means? All amazing.

I love digging into the realities of what that kind of life & dynamic would look like. What does it mean when characters know — be it a growing suspicion or outright surety — that what they're feeling, the degree to which they're feeling it, isn't healthy, but they enjoy it so much they can't bring themselves to care or change? Them being equally, fuck-up-ed-ly invested in their relationship is what I live for. Character(s) willing to let the world very literally burn if it keeps the world from coming between them & the person they love — or perhaps better yet, being willing to set the world on fire if it ensures that person remains theirs alone.

⟑ Rather than miscommunication causing drama, I love it when bluntness & frankness cause tension instead.

Characters saying what they want or confessing what they've done, point-blank, & leaving it for the other to decide if they can handle that; quiet characters taking their time & mulling over their choices before telling the other person what they want; different cultures or moral constructs & the unique ways needed to bridge/overcome them; as well as any other communication-based drama that you can think of that doesn't hinge on not having the full story or hearing the wrong thing at the worst time are always timeless sources of conflict that engage me.

⟑ Opting-in to all possible incest ships for the characters I request!

I actively ship it in most cases, don't mind if it's enthusiastically consensual or dubcon (or noncon that doesn't hit my DNW below), underage and age gaps are fine, and you're welcome to make the incest itself be a non-issue or to lean into that as much as you want — pretty much the only preference I have is that if you do want to lean into the incest angle, I'd rather it not all be about them getting off on the general dirty-bad-wrong taboo.

As I mention above, I prefer whatever conflict or arousal to hinge on their interpersonal relationship & the power dynamics therein (who is more invested? who has more to lose if it became public? is it physical desire they can't control or is the sex another factor in making sure the other's world is all about them/they stay one another's most important person & don't ever look elsewhere for that connection? are they terrified of losing a lover and a family member should the relationship not work out?) than a back & forth about how wrong-hot-dirty it is that they're together.

⟑ Codas, alternate canons, canon divergences, &/or slight changes to canon that don't end up changing much at all because fate always finds a way are all my bread & butter. My prompts typically range from potential plotty monstrosities to short, domestic slice-of-life details & I'd adore receiving either, or seeing you depict a prompt that might fall into the former camp into something that fits the latter.

⟑ Stories that start in the "middle"/in medias res of the overarching prompted plot.

I don't need a lot of world-building setups, especially if that's not something you're really into doing. If you've decided to take up one of my alternate canon, AU, or divergent ideas, please rest assured that I already know the basic background of what's going on & you are welcome to go right ahead with the action of the story, if that's what you want. (However, if half the fun in creating involves delving deep into the universe & making yourself at home there, go wild!)

⟑ I love, love, love genre mashups.

Slice of Life Action, Noir SciFi, Heist High Fantasy, Historical Dynamics Set in the Modern Era, Vampire Westerns, Werewolf RomComs, Social Commentary Horror — many of the, uh, out-there prompts below probably get this across, but I'm the person who you can create weird, off-the-wall works for any day of the week.

⟑ Art is absolutely witchcraft to me and I'm impressed by many of the forms it takes. All of my prompts and general likes (and dislikes) absolutely pertain to what I like to see in art; that includes always being excited for explicit artwork if that's what you wanna make!

The most important thing for me in art is the comoposition/subject matter. I enjoy looking at things, finding little details, decoding symbolism β€” and because of that, I typically enjoy a wide range of styles. For composition or subject matter I've given specific ideas (as well as the prompts) for each character, but in general you can't go wrong with genre scenes or an emotional or pivotal moment that looks like it could be proudly displayed in the middle of a chapter β€” or even as the 'cover' of a comic book, novel, or DVD box. I adore a focus on details (hands, eyes, body postures, et cetera), in case you'd like to zero in on that rather than do anything full-bodied. For styles, I enjoy Realistic, comic-book or anime & similar styles, and especially abstract & stylized takes! From a design perspective, I adore sketch-like and rough-edged pieces, as well as any sort of coloring that is "messy"/goes "outside" the lines.

In terms of color palettes & style/mood/composition, I'm into Renaissance Art, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, Luminism, Surrealism, & Baroque Art. Extrapolating from that, I guess I like pastels or really strong colors, the interplay of dark/light & shadows with a close focus on the subject involved where the background can vary from nothingness to a whole piece in itself.

I always end up feeling charmed/moved by anything with a strong sense of aesthetic or personality, as annoyingly vague as that probably is. I'm not sure if this is helpful & please do not take this as a reason to change your style (since that's the opposite of what I'm asking for, ha β€” & obviously these are finished pieces for the most part, which I do not expect at all; I would absolutely die of joy to receive the initial conception or any in-stage process version of whatever you're inspired to create), but in the interest of concrete examples, here is a random pull of what comes to mind when I say that I like "personality" & the types of "composition" I enjoy in art: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20,

⟑ Deathfic as an ending.

If they’re brought back to life via the supernatural, reincarnation, consciousness uploaded into an android, et cetera — or the story continues in the afterlife, I'm good. As long as the story doesn't end with "[…] and they died, the end", you're fine. The death of non-requested characters or original characters are all fine, although a focus on that as a driving plot point may hit my next item.

⟑ Whump/excessive angst wherein the majority of the fic is (self-)pity, sadness or miscommunications, and a tiny section at the end is happy/resolution.

If the events are sad but the character(s) experiencing them believe their lives to be normal, content, &/or are generally blind to the awfulness of their situation, then that's fine! I dislike when half or more of the work focuses on a character's sadness/angst and how they react or wallow in said angst.

⟑ Plots driven by embarrassment &/or humiliation (as a kink or situationally) that rely on actions that focus on humiliating them (e.g. A and B are forced to have sex in front of an audience; A verbally humiliates B in a sexual context or just to be cruel and B is thoroughly humiliated) make my second-hand embarrassment kick in hard, especially if they are shown or described in detail with particular focus on the embarrassment the character feels.

However, if the character doesn't think they did anything embarrassing &/or it doesn't phase them that something embarrassing occurred (e.g. A walks in on B masturbating. B keeps going while A enjoys the show or joins in; or, A says "sorry", leaves, and then obsesses over hot B is, rather than being mortified), you're fine. Characters briefly doing something embarrassing (e.g. tripping while walking), or a character being 'weird' (e.g. a spy making a scene as cover for their mission; an alien making a cultural error due to not being of that culture), do not come close to hitting my second-hand embarrassment. The line is crossed when embarrassment or humiliation is the whole point/allure of the scene/plot.

πŸ’­ The Nolanverse perfectly encapsulates the identity porn aspect of why I adore Batman so much. Bruce is the total platonic playboy archetype ideal, napping at board meetings & hanging out with models that never mind that he dips out on them without an excuse or explanation. I love how he flirts with everyone without a care in the world — & how a switch flips when he returns to the Batman identity that has consumed his life. Batman is...Batman. I love that the man cannot quit, that he's basically disabled (or on his way to being there) at the end of the franchise, & that there are so, so many attractive villains in his past that aren't big on letting things go.

πŸ’• An evergreen trope for me when it comes to superheroes & those who date them is jealousy between the identities: Bruce jealous at the thought of X thinking Batman is wonderful & Bruce is just a vain idiot; Batman miserable over X constantly deriding his vigilante antics whole on a date with Bruce. And the ultimate: X dating Bruce and feeling guilty whenever Batman drops in for an inevitable hookup. I'd also love to see someone who is able to bring the Bruce out in Batman, and vice-versa. Who can make Batman have a little fun or have see hope in the world? Who makes Bruce want to drop his playboy act? Bruce being compromised (or healed in a way that has him struggling to keep what he thinks is his core identity) by love & having to deal with that!

Crane puts Bruce into a nightmare & is not prepared for Bruce to be so fucked up that it doesn't even really phase him — he also isn't prepared for them to start fucking; they say you never forget your first, and Bruce and Crane have found this to be true; good ol' fashioned woke-up-in-a-universe-where-they're-married would be great for these two. What is the deal? Are they both villains? Both do-gooders? Somewhere in between? Are they rivals in costume but husbands out of them? How long are they there, what does it take to get back home, and what does this newfound knowledge of their apparent compatibility bring them?

Bane getting Batman on his side & the world reeling at a truly socially conscious 1%-er that puts his money to work; the two of them coming up under Ra's. What sort of tension would there be with Bane barely being tolerated & Bruce being the chosen one; Bane taking Bruce to be his prize for having conquered Gotham.

Bruce adopting Blake when he was younger so that he can have the proper Robin experience; Bruce feeling guilty that he didn't go the ward route like he was always tempted to do & trying to take care of Blake as an adult without actually talking to him about it, and Blake taking it the entirely wrong way (and Bruce having nothing else to do but role with it); Blake takes up vigilantism to fill in the gap of Batman's absence. What if Bruce left his cave to test the new kid out, and got himself a pet vigilante that won't stop checking in on him for his trouble?; Bruce being lonely and seeking out company that doesn't require him to be the life of the party, and getting Blake for his trouble?

πŸ’­ Bridgerton sure was a show I watched & that's all I'll say about that! I truly adore Simon and want nothing but the world for him. Please feel free to take or leave whatever you need from the series itself & then not give it any more thought, or to go as deep into the world-building as you'd like. Historical accuracy is never a big deal to me, so research or handwave as you see fit. I appreciate Simon's commitment to live as he chooses (for as long as that lasted, anyway) & how he's always honest even if it's for the benefit of another party & not himself, and that he's able to navigate the world as he sees fit.

πŸ’• I'd love him to be with someone who is as happy to carve a place for themselves in the world as he is, either by traipsing through Society to suit their desires or who might even live outside of it. Someone who doesn't want to change him, who understands his traumas & respects his resolutions; who is willing to compromise rather than Simon needing to bend to their will. Perhaps even someone who can be his partner in crime rather than being out to tame him — or, if they do change him, it's through Simon's own choosing & not an ultimatum, and perhaps it isn't even a change for what society deems to be for the better.

Benedict goes to visit his eldest brother off at school on school on a lark. It's awful luck that Anthony's taken off with his latest love interest. It's frightfully good luck that Anthony's best friend is there to look after him. There are rakes about, after all, and a Bridgerton's virginity would be a delightful feather in their cap!

As Colin approaches marrying age, he finds himself more and more disquieted with Society as he witnesses its effects on his siblings. Anthony insists that he'll grow out of it, suggests that he sow his oats as Anthony himself had once done, in order to see that a family is really all that a man needs. Though he hasn't heard from Simon in ages, he's certain that his friend is just the person to send Colin off to visit to see him properly-seen to.

My kingdom for Friederich coming to London and falling right for Simon & making it his mission to get his hand. Explain this however you want: prior to King George III falling for Queen Charlotte, his Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha (his mother, Google tells me) fell for another woman and that's how Society uniformly came to accept same-sex marriages? Or perhaps it's still taboo, and it's one of those wonderfully timeless historical blind eyes where everyone accepts Simon as his favourite and pretends they aren't fucking all over the palace, because Prussia can't be picky and Friederich really is perfect otherwise?

Simon is one hell of a muse. 

✨ Simon always finds an excuse to stop in on the household of one of his friends. People assume it's for one reason or another, but really it's down to Simon being especially fond towards a member of the staff.

✨ Another royal shows up on the scene, one who they say is more attractive than even Simon himself. Simon decides he's duty-bound to see this new addition to the Ton, & have him.

✨ Simon gives up on the Ton and decides to reside abroad.

Where's he going? The Continent? Out East? America? Give me Simon making waves wherever you please.

Does Soda realize that Dally lives with this eating at him? If he does, how does he try to reassure him? Does he go after Soda after his dispair at losing Johnny, the one who was most 'his'? I love how competent Sulu is, how he has a sense of humor without being a joke himself or cruel about it, & how everyone seems to love and respect him exactly because of the balance he manages. It was done in the laziest, most Hollywood-nonsense way possible, but him being the canon gay character was actually god's gift to me, so I'll take it. I'm always drawn to characters who seem fed up with the canons they're in (read: with the characters they're forced to spend their time with); it's why Sulu is my forever boy. Also, I'm a big fan of the Mirrorverse: fics set there, or one or more characters being transported over & having to find a way to stay alive, so if you'd like to do mirrorverse!Sulu &/or pair him up with a mirroverse version, please go right ahead.

Them being the only sane people on the ship; Sulu actually being insane and McCoy trying to figure out just why in the hell Sulu being in peril bothers him even more than when Jim is; it's TOS but this is their AOS energy as well, so give me McCoy & Sulu being fed up with everyone they know & bonding in that shared judgment; even though it pisses him off in Jim & Spock, McCoy finds Sulu's aggressive-streak hot as hell.

Scotty's used to being on the fringes of the bridge crew, but Sulu actually gives him the time of day. More than the time of day, even. Scotty has no idea what to do with himself!

The dream team. Feel free to play around with the usual for these two: (near-)virgin Sulu being led on a wild sex adventure by experienced Chekov; a probably too-confident Chekov actively courting trying-to-stay-professional Sulu; the two of them stranded on a planet & needing to take care of one another; aliens give them telepathy or make it so they can't be more than a few paces apart at any given time.

Nero takes Sulu as a hostage & doesn't want to give him back; Sulu was on Romulus when it was destroyed and it was that as much as anything that drove Nero mad — when he sees Sulu alive it kind of takes the wind out of his sails. Now Sulu is faced with keeping his freedom or taking one for the intergalactic team by dating Nero & giving him a reason to stay sane?

Pike sees a lot of himself in Sulu. He's still working on actually getting himself into Sulu, but the point is that he likes what he sees as-is; Pike grooming Sulu (dealers choice of sinister or professional — or both!); Sulu likes older men. Pike isn't sure how he feels about this, but Sulu isn't one to let that sort of thing get in his way.

Sulu figures out that the Prime version of himself had a thing with Spock Prime, once upon a time, and wants a go himself. It turns out it was more than a 'thing', and Spock Prime is probably the best lay of his life.

Give me Kahn thinking that humans suck yet rationalizing his obsession with Sulu as logical. Sulu is the best of the best & Kahn deserves to take a prize from the cultures he's conquered; Sulu volunteering to be hostage if Kahn lets the rest of the crew go; the Enterprise is the one to find Kahn & his people, and Kahn imprints on Sulu right from the start? 

✨ Something something Sulu has to marry a crew-mate — or member of wherever they are visiting — for reasons.

For how long? Are eventual the feelings new, or have they been there for a while? Worse, is it his ex, and have they gotten over one another or is this something they both jumped at the chance to do?

✨ Sulu finds the love of his life on one of the planets they've landed on. The Prime Directive really needs more nuance on how to handle this stuff.

✨ Everyone thinks that Kirk is the crazy reckless one (with the intense sex life), but really it's Sulu. Someone has their third eye opened to this fact.

✨ Sulu saves the day in an action &/or disaster movie scenario he randomly finds himself in with much less death, destruction, and time that the hero's original canonical plan would've taken, and they find that to be the hottest thing they've seen in their life — or they find Sulu to be the most aggravating bastard because of it, but damn is he hot.

πŸ’­ Football is life!!!! I absolutely lived for these skits whenever NBC would drop a new one & I was so happy when they turned it into a show β€” the fact that it ended up being such an amazing series was the icing on that particular cake. I love everyone, I love how it has a decent amount of actual football in it, and I love the archetypes they picked for the players. I love that it's is kind and earnest and anyone who tries to act above it all or take the piss out of the kind characters have to change themselves and become less jaded, while characters like Ted & Dani are presented as the coolest and best things since sliced bread.

πŸ’• tl;dr take Ted Lasso and make it a BL with Dani as the lead, please? Pair Dani up with someone just as happy-go-lucky as he is, or allow him to be the bright spot in a moody character's day. Does Dani have someone back home in Mexico, or does he meet his man abroad? Are they at the same place professionally or is one of them more famous? Give me someone trying to get Dani's attention, someone not knowing what to do with Dani's attention, &/or someone knowing Dani's one worth changing themselves for.

πŸ’­ #MagnetoWasRight! Erik is that one character I will always messily apologize for & will be on my deathbed insisting he is just Misunderstood™. I love how everything he does is extra as hell, that he is ironclad in his morals, that after all he's been through he looks out for he & his while refusing to play into respectability politics, but also that he's willing to step back from doing what probably actually needs to be done, because at the end of the day he does love the people who love him, even if he is #right & not allowing himself to become the monster he clearly has the potential to be usually puts the world at a disservice later on down the line. I love him because of that monstrous instinct, and not in spite of it.

πŸ’• Someone who agrees with Erik, even if his means make them question the ends. Someone willing to be ride or die with him & participate in those ends! Someone who enjoys that Erik is essentially their pet berserker; someone who tries to come to terms with that darkness within him. ✨ The odd mid-80 Polish social-realist depiction of Erik at the start of Age of Apocalypse is my absolute favorite so if you just wanted to give him a mutant-tinged slice-of-life interlude, I'll be there with bells on.

✨ Erik succeeds in however you see his House of M-style mutant supremacy goals to shape up in the film's universe. Who does he take to be his co-ruler? Do they get together before or after Erik reigns supreme? How do they feel about this development? Did they have a choice in this arrangement, romantic or political? Are they happy with it, or is that still a work in progress?
